Galvanized Steel The hot dip galvanizing process is simple and effective. The steel is first dipped into an acid bath (also known as pickling) to remove scale and clean the surface. Then the steel is dipped into molten zinc to produce a corrosion resistant coating that bonds with the steel to fight atmospheric corrosion and rust. Galvanized steel offers substantial corrosion resistance at a low cost providing extended maintenance-free protection. Many industries make extensive use of galvanizing, including the transportation, utility, chemical and paper industries. For custom jobs, BMG will cut your steel to size, then have it hot dipped galvanized and then deliver it to your job site or shop. No job too small or large. Ask one of our sales professionals for more details. The following items are stock already galvanized. Please inquire on specific sizes.

BMG also stocks a large inventory of galvanized steel sheets. These are sheets that have been continuously hot-dipped with a protective coating of zinc. The standard coating is G90 (1.25 oz per square foot) but the G60 is also available. Galvanized sheets can be formed, rolled or otherwise fabricated without disrupting its protective qualities. Applications include heating and ventilation ducts, roof flashing, and electrical boxes.
